New and Amended Regulations under the Nursing Act, 2005 (Act No. 33 of 2005)

Attached please find copies of the new and amendment regulations made in terms of the Nursing Act, 2005 (Act No. 33 of 2005) and published by notice in the Gazette on 8 March 2013.

Notice regarding the creation of categories of practitioners in terms of section 31(2) of the Nursing Act, 2005

{This notice creates the category staff nurse (enrolled nursing) required to implement the transitional arrangements mentioned in R. 175 of 8 March 2013}

It is important that these regulations are communicated as broadly as possible and your assistance in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Please help ensure that every nursing and midwifery practitioner, educator or administrator to whom these regulations apply becomes familiar with the contents of the regulations.

Please note that unless indicated otherwise in the regulations, these regulations became effective on the date of publication in the Gazette (i.e. 8 March 2013).
